She could feel it crawling beneath her skin
… the terror
Her mouth was curled into a wrinkled smile
and yet the heart was thudding forcefully.
The voices were shrieking as fingers trembled quietly;
Her eyes were still.
There was no escaping the snakes when they came,
Yet one could lie about them being.
One could forget the next day
when they silently turned into buterflies and
all the happy creatures.
And the crawling marks erased but only so briefly until
They came again
